Memorandums of Understanding

UCLA partners with universities throughout the world to maintain the highest standards of teaching and research, to keep up with academic trends, and to share innovations.

A partnership may be codified through an agreement known as a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). An MOU is a broad agreement in which UCLA and a partner express an intention to engage in cooperative academic or research activities.

These agreements represent an outstanding opportunity for UCLA faculty, staff, or students to grow and learn through contact with international colleagues.

The UCLA International Institute, which is jointly responsible for vetting these agreements campus wide, makes available to UCLA faculty and staff, UCLA policy on international agreements, an archive of existing agreements, and forms to propose new agreements.

Within the Department of Pediatrics, all proposals for MOUs must be first vetted through the Chairman's Office before contacting the UCLA International Institute.
