Back Row: Paul Krogstad, James Cherry, Alan Shapiro, Ravi Jhaveri
Front Row: Karin Nielsen, Yvonne Bryson, Monica Silva, Jamie Deville

Division Highlights

During 1999 the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases was active in research, clinical care, and teaching both here at UCLA and nationally and internationally. The division as a whole had fourteen (14) research publications, including publications in the following prestigious journals: New England Journal of Medicine, Clinical Immunology, Journal of Infectious Diseases, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Pediatrics, and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal. In addition, members of the division made scientific presentations at over eleven (11) different national and international meetings, and gave educational presentations at over forty-four (44) conferences. Studies in our division continued to be at the forefront of pediatric AIDS and HIV infection. In addition, we continue to be leaders in studies relating to the epidemiology of Bordetella pertussis infection. We look forward to a productive and challenging year 2000.
