   Learning from the Best

In Morning Report, noon conference, and other teaching settings, you’ll learn from dozens of nationally renowned leaders in pediatrics. The faculty at the UCLA Tri-Campus Program are actively involved in teaching at every level. During residency, you will also have a faculty mentor dedicated to providing valuable support, guiding you through periods of transition and difficult decisions, and helping you to identify interests and goals.

 Research

Our faculty is consistently at the forefront of innovation and research.   Residents can work closely with leading health services, clinical, and laboratory researchers. Even with the busy schedule of residency, we can arrange elective blocks to allow you the time to conduct meaningful research and enrich your experience.

Involvement of Our Voluntary Faculty

The Pediatric Department has a voluntary faculty network of over 300 general pediatricians and sub-specialists in the community. Dedicated teachers, many are graduates of our programs. Residents will have a chance to learn firsthand how their practices function, from small solo or group practices to large HMOs.

Elective Opportunities at National and International Sites

Our residents have traveled around the country and the globe, to experience medicine as it is practiced elsewhere.  A wide variety of international pediatric experiences are currently available and may be arranged during the senior year. Existing links include training sites in India, Nepal, sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Australia, and Southeast Asia.  We also have a well-established link with the Indian Health Service in Alaska.  Residents may also establish electives in other international venues.
